Academic Seminar is a career talk programme that will be conducted under TEC event which will be held starting from January until March. This programme is basically an event for high school students which will focus more on form four and form five students as guidance to them to have clear view on how to choose the right and suitable career for them.
The objectives of this programme are mainly to encourage students to achieve academic excellence and develop communication and interpersonal skills as well as to motivate students to acquire valuable knowledge throughout their whole life. The students will be also be exposed to the life style in university in order to help them to prepare themselves and give inner motivation sensation of striving into varsities. The speaker for this talk programme is Mr Nor Idham Che Ghani, a career advisor of UTP.
The seminar is targeted for secondary students who will be sitting for their PMR and SPM examinations. It will be a one-day programme where TEC committees will facilitate the students. The programme will be conducted through modules aimed at motivating the students.
Besides that, in this programme, there will be many activities that will be carried such as talk on “exploration on medical and engineering career”, engineering games, sharing session with students UTP about life as university students, talk on” how to choose the right career”, and also Tour Around Campus. The price for this programme is RM 1500.00 but it is negotiable and students are not limited.
Objectives:
a. To encourage students to achieve academic excellence and develop communication and interpersonal skills.
b. To motivate students to acquire many valuable knowledge throughout their whole life.
c. To instill self-confidence and give some tips on how to prepare for PMR/SPM examinations.
d. To introduce the careers and job field available in the market.
e. To expose students life style in university.
